Student behavior has changed. Budgets are tighter. State regulations around crisis management continue to evolve. And special education leaders are being asked to keep students and staff safe while doing more with less.
Join us for a candid panel conversation with special education directors and program leaders across the U.S. who have implemented Safety-Care with their teams. In this Safety-Care Live webinar, our panelists will share what's actually working in their districts and organizations, from how they're funding safety training in today's budget landscape to how student behaviors have shifted since COVID and the change in staff confidence since Safety-Care implementation.
Moderated by Lillie Joyce, MS, BCBA (QBS) with Patrick Mulick (Auburn School District), Leah Hunter (Northside ISD), and Lorie Coates (Davis County Schools)
When a physical management incident occurs, most teams are focused on keeping everyone safe in the moment. But how often does your organization examine what's driving how long those incidents last? Melissa Meotti, BCBA and QBS Master Trainer, breaks down a systematic approach to reducing physical management from both ends: prevention strategies that reduce how often incidents occur, including modifying the environment, functional communication training, and non-contingent reinforcement, and evidence-based fading procedures that reduce how long they last when they do.

The transition back to school is a significant adjustment for students and staff alike. New classrooms, new faces, and new routines can create uncertainty, and it's natural for students to need extra support as they find their footing. This session is designed to help school staff approach that transition feeling equipped, prepared, and confident.
Join us as we explore how to proactively set the tone for a successful year: establishing clear, positive expectations, understanding behavior as a form of communication, and creating the predictable, safe environments students need to feel secure in new settings. Attendees will leave with practical strategies for easing the back-to-school transition, including how to reinforce desired routines from day one and how to respond calmly and effectively to emerging challenges before they escalate.
Presented by Caitlin Dalton, MA, BCBA, LBA, LBS-I & Lisa LaMela, M.S.Ed., BCBA
Power struggles can quickly escalate situations, strain relationships, and derail positive outcomes. In this session, we explore how and why power struggles occur across settings — and, more importantly, how to prevent them. Through real-world examples and practical tools, you will learn to recognize early warning signs, shift your approach in the moment, and respond in ways that promote cooperation rather than conflict.
