Redefining Crisis Prevention - A Systematic Approach to Reducing Restraint

July 20 at 2 p.m. Eastern Time

When a physical management incident occurs, most teams are focused on keeping everyone safe in the moment. But how often does your organization examine what's driving how long those incidents last? In this Safety-Care Live session, Melissa Meotti, BCBA breaks down a systematic approach to reducing physical management from both ends: prevention strategies that reduce how often incidents occur, including modifying the environment, functional communication training, and non-contingent reinforcement, and evidence-based fading procedures that reduce how long they last when they do. Attendees will leave with a clear understanding of Fixed-Time Release, the research behind it, and concrete steps they can bring back to their teams at the prevention, during-crisis, and systems levels.

Proactive Strategies for a Safe & Successful School Year

August 21 at 2 p.m. Eastern Time

The transition back to school is a significant adjustment for students and staff alike. New classrooms, new faces, and new routines can create uncertainty, and it's natural for students to need extra support as they find their footing. This session is designed to help school staff approach that transition feeling equipped, prepared, and confident.

Join us as we explore how to proactively set the tone for a successful year: establishing clear, positive expectations, understanding behavior as a form of communication, and creating the predictable, safe environments students need to feel secure in new settings. Attendees will leave with practical strategies for easing the back-to-school transition, including how to reinforce desired routines from day one and how to respond calmly and effectively to emerging challenges before they escalate.

At QBS, we share your goal of helping every student settle into the new school year feeling supported, safe, and ready to learn.
